The Silver Lining Series

These paintings are reflective of my need to indulge in optimism and hope.  I use black walnut ink and hibiscus water to initially set loose form on the matte white ground, dropping it, dripping it, and softening and moving it around. Next I use found objects and different tools to begin to add flakes and delicate structures of rich metallics. I don't use brushes, and this added texture makes it seem that I'm revealing layers that seem ancient, as if they are pealing and being lifted.    Archeologists give me hope, by being anchored to the past, past civilizations and history they provide perspective.

There is also an element of sky, and clouds, and what they bring, relief, water, shade, and sunrises and sunsets of magnificent jaw dropping beauty best shared.
